Different kinds of falling
You can fall from the bed, fall on the street, crash on the floor, have a crash on someone. It's not the falling but the crash.
So You can fall in emotions, sadness, depression, or get high on hapiness and other.
Have been holding yourself for too long, not to fall? How is that different from a cautious fall ?

Especially in old age people and their relatives are extremely scared of a fall.

In aikido, judo and other martial arts, first you learn how to fall.
In dance happens the same. One of my favorites is contact improvisation, where one of the very few rules is to always take care of yourself. You know how to fall. So crash is not a problem.
Same with pain. Pain is not the problem, but how we look upon it.
